We should open an art studio at our house since we have 3 budding artists. Connor is taking an art class on Saturdays and the above drawing is his first life size drawing. Those are lasers coming out of his eyes in case you were wondering.

Charlie, our Elf, has been busy making snow angels, sleeping in tissue boxes, etc. I am running out of ideas for this little guy. We've only forgotten to move him a couple of times.

Visit to See Santa

On Sunday we went to visit Santa at the Galt House. Best place to go an avoid the crazy mall crowds. Plus you get to take your own pictures for free! And to top it all off he's super nice and looks like the real deal.

They picked their favorite horse and stood in front of it. That was the only way to get their picture with Michael.

Cooper was once again very leary of the big bearded man.

We went to Yew Dell Gardens this morning in Crestwood, just down the street from our house and had a great time trick or treating.

This year we have a knight, dragon, and dalmation. Not much of a theme going on like last year but that's okay! Keaton wore his costume to Connor's soccer game and REALLY wanted to take a nap in it until we convinced him that he would be pretty sweaty when he got up.

Our soccer player started practice last week and he loves it. First game is coming up soon!

We took the older two boys to the see the Bats play baseball a few weeks ago. It was lots of pizza and sugar with a little baseball thrown in. They have a playground too which is really their favorite part of the night.

I kept trying to get Keaton to look up at me so I could take his picture, but instead he yelled, "Take a picture of my FOOT!!" So that's what I did. This summer has flown by and I haven't mentioned that Keaton is potty trained. We took the plunge back the beginning of July and he got the hang of it in just a few days. I didn't even have to bribe him with M&M's and Gummies after a week. Now we only have one in diapers, yay!!

Well the time has finally come we have an official Kindergartner living in our house. He went to school and loved it. I decided to drive him today since it was his first day and all, even though he wanted to ride the bus (I am sure the novelty will wear off soon). I had no idea what I was doing with the carpool line, there were lines going all over the place with the middle and high school right next door. I pulled up and told the teacher I had no idea what I was doing, and that this was our first time. She asked him if he knew where his class was, he replied, "Yes" in a tone that said, "Of course I know where my room is, and even if I didn't I wouldn't admit it." Such a guy's response! He didn't even turn around, the teacher had to remind him to tell me bye. And then I drove off into the sunset thinking of him going off to middle school, high school, prom, graduation, then college.....actually I was only worried that he was wandering the halls trying to find his classroom. So worried that I forgot Keaton's swim lesson at 11:40am. Oh well. Hopefully his swim teacher will understand. Around 2:45 his bus pulled onto our street, and I was ready to take a picture of him getting off the bus. He was so cute just waving and smiling from a seat near the front, but as he waved the bus didn't stop. A panic rose over me. Was she just going to keep driving and not drop him off?? I mouthed to him, "Tell her to let you off!" and he just kept waving. She was dropping off the little girl at the end of the street and meant to stop in the middle so they could both get off. Then I forgot I was supposed to have my driver's license so she could make sure I was his mother. Sooooo the whole bus waited as I ran back down the street to retrieve my license. I am sure I am not the only one that had to do this, at least let's hope not.

All in all, it was a good day. He played outside at recess, saw some familiar faces, had music class, and gave me a lecture on how peanut products can make you sick so you have to keep your PB&Js away from the allergic kids. Enough said.

Cooper is celebrating his first birthday today. Hard to believe that one year ago this sweet baby came into our lives with a grand entrance weighing in at a whopping 9 pounds 5 ounces. Connor officially graduated from his Pre-K program at Crestwood United Methodist Church and they had a nice little ceremony for the kids. His teachers, Ms. Betty and Ms. Mary were so wonderful and he learned a ton. They surprised him with this kiss on the cheek, not sure he was excited about it!

Balloon Boys

Tuesday nights at the Goose Creek Diner are fun times for the boys. There's a balloon man who will make you anything you want. Keaton asked for a superhero and got Mr. Incredible, and because it was Derby time Connor wanted a horse. The balloon man came through on both.

Connor and Keaton had Derby races at school so we went on the hunt for stick horses, mission accomplished.

Cooper turned 10 months old on June 3rd. We don't have our monthly shot with his sign, but this picture was taken this week so it will have to do. Since his 9 month birthday Cooper has graduated from army crawling to full on crawl mode. Sometimes he keeps one leg up just for kicks, and it's pretty amusing. He loves music and will try and "dance" along with you. He really loves to watch Connor and his big brother makes him smile and laugh all the time. Connor seems to have quite the soft spot for Coop too. I think they will be really close even though they are 5 years apart. We just got back from vacation and have finally unpacked our sandy bags.Vacation pictures to come!

9 Months Already??

Now Cooper's been on the outside as long as he was on the inside. Our 9 month checkup is next Monday so we will see how big he is. I think he's around 23-ish pounds. Definitely not tiny. He has been army crawling around the house for a while now, but has figured out how to do the hands and knees way. Still has only the two bottom teeth, but I expect he will have more sometime soon since he's drooling like the dog in theTom Hanks movie, "Turner and Hooch."

I was showing my dad how to scan pictures on his printer, and decided to use this old family picture as an example. As you can see I was not a happy camper. In looking at this picture I wonder how my short little grandparents had such tall children? By the time middle school rolled around I was already taller than both of them. They were little "pocket grandparents" you could just stick in your pocket and carry around wherever you wanted to go. Not really, but they were great people and we all miss them very much.

Uncle Nick

Uncle Nick came to visit us a few weeks ago. He's not been to Louisville since Connor was born. Keaton kept asking when Uncle Nick was going to be here, and Uncle Nick usually doesn't even know the answer to that. It was nice to have someone else to keep me company during the day and play army guys with Connor. On our last night together we were driving home from dinner (always an adventure) and Cooper projectile vomited all of his food. Everywhere. We drove the rest of the way home with the windows open while I tried to clean up the mess (Michael offered Kleenex, and I opted for an unused diaper). Nick believes we are a GREAT form of birth control. Maybe we should rent our kids out for those couples who are contemplating starting a family. After spending a few days with us they would probably end up getting a dog. Keaton's art debut at the local coffee shop. Maybe he'll follow in his Uncle's footsteps. He does love to paint. And no, I didn't coordinate his shirt to match his artwork:)

I do realize that I have no pictures of Connor posted here. He's waaay to busy to pose for a picture when he's building spaceships, shooting guns and setting up army battles. Cooper's an easy target right now because he can't go anywhere, and Keaton......he loves to look at the picture after you take it. I'm sure that won't last long. Happy weekend!!

March Happenings

This is how Keaton sits every day when watching his favorite cartoons. No exceptions. I hope he doesn't ruin his eyesight since he's mere inches from the t.v., but I have other things to worry about.

Connor's modeling his mommy's house shoes. Love his facial expression, it says "Yes, I am five and I am wearing ladies' house shoes, and I don't mind a bit."

Cooper's joined in and is now taking baby swim lessons with Miss BJ, our wonderful swim instructor. Seems he has become the class demo baby because he never cries when you dunk him under water. Miss BJ's philosphy is to start them early and they won't fear the water like older babies do. I have to admit he's doing really well, so well fact he may teach Poppy how to swim in Florida this year. We'll see.

Special Delivery

We got our third barstool a few weeks ago and the boys could care less about that. The best part of the delivery was the extra large cardboard box that came with it. Michael came home to see me carrying a large carving knife into the playroom. For a moment I think he questioned my sanity, but I then explained I was only making an extra hole in the top of our "tank." The tank was a big hit, and as you can see they had all of their weaponry ready for battle.

7 Months

Well in our last post we celebrated 6 months, and now it's time for 7 months. What's new since last month? Cooper has his two bottom teeth and is quite interested in using them to bite his spoon, our fingers and checks them out with his tongue constantly. He's sitting up on his own now which makes a big difference for all of us. The boppys are now packed away which means just one less thing to have downstairs, yay!

Cooper is well on his way to his first birthday. Half way to be exact on February 3rd. Michael and I admit it is hard to believe he's already 6 months old, and it seems like yesterday that Michael frantically ran down the halls of the hospital with our OB in tow ready to deliver that 9 pound, 5 ounce baby. Cooper's in the 90% for weight and height, if I remember correctly he was 20 lbs, 5 ounces at his checkup and I can't remember length. He's eating his fruits, veggies and cereal like a champ and is sleeping from 7pm-7am. Can't beat that! Seriously, for those of you that haven't had the chance to meet this little guy he is the happiest baby on the block. He loves to watch his big brothers play and he can roll from one end of the room to the other in mere seconds.

These are a little late, but better late than never right? We went out with good friends, Dave and Kristen Wilson and Kerrie and Nate Heider for New Years Eve. Our babysitter had 5 boys 5 and under. We had every age except 4. Guess we could've borrowed the kid from down the street to make a complete set, but that would've sent our sitter running for the hills.

Check out Cooper and his new head gear. I know what you are thinking, and no he's not training for the Army. He's developed a flat spot on one side of his head in the back, so the molding helmet will correct the spot and give him a nice round head. Connor said he looked like a little Army guy in training and proceeded to shoot him in the head with his foam bullets.

Cooper tried rice cereal for the first time in January and he ate it like he's been doing it for years. He has since tried carrots and sweet potatoes.

So we are a little behind, he is now six months old but we are playing catch up.

Favorite bath time activity is sucking on a wet wash cloth. Go figure.

After many attempts to get a picture of the boys on Christmas day, this was the best we could get.
As of late Keaton has become a daddy's boy. I think he's protesting that mommy had another baby, but it's pretty cute to see him follow Michael around everywhere he goes.

Cooper was so good during Christmas, just sat there and watched everyone open their gifts.

Connor's Trio castle in its finished form. This was no easy feat, it required multiple adults and was 56 steps from start to finish. My brother walked in the next day and sighed when he saw the masterpiece in multiple pieces.

Me: "Connor, tell Daddy to be careful today."

Connor: "I hope he doesn't get froze to an iceberg."

Santa

We recently went to the Galt House downtown to visit Santa, the gingerbread houses, and the newest lights display called Kalightascope. I am happy to report that no one cried while visiting the big red guy. Although, none of our boys have cried when they meet him. When Santa asked what Connor wanted for Christmas he told him something totally different that what the "Elves" have made (i.e. bought at Target) him at their workshop. Let's just hope that he will still be happy with what he originally asked for. When Keaton was asked what he wanted, he sweetly replied, "Baa Baa." In Keaton talk that means a sheep. Yes, that will be all Santa, just a stuffed sheep for me. Is this one easy or what? I happen to know that the jolly man will be bringing him a super soft sheep for his stocking. Cooper, well, he just sat there wondering when his next meal was.

Cooper 3 Months

Little Coop was three months old on November 3rd. He's still the happiest guy on the block weighing in at a whopping 17 pounds and the other stats.....I've lost my sheet from the doctor's office, but I remember he was in the 75th percentile for height (I think). Hey-he's my third I can't keep up with everything! He's growing and he's happy and that's really all that matters, right?

A Little Project to Share

BEFOREAFTER

So I know I post pictures of the boys most of the time, but I thought I might change it up and show a recent project I completed. I was searching for a buffet for my great room and stopped in a local consignment store close to my office and found this buffet for $100. I painted it gray and spray painted the handles silver. I was so happy with the price and really liked how it turned out so I sent an email to the store owner to show them the before and after. She wants to put it in their next newsletter, pretty cool! In looking at this picture I see I need to change my lightbulb on the right to a "green" bulb since the color it give off is very yellow. Also have you notice how junky my garage is in the before picture? Yuck! We still haven't organized but that's on the agenda soon. I also found 6 dining chairs for $150 that I am going to redo for our dining room.

Boo Dell at Yew Dell

Went to Yew Dell Gardens today for their annual "Boo Dell" at Yew Dell. We had beautiful weather and the boys had fun.

Keaton was too young last year to understand the idea of trick or treating, but this year he's got the hang of it. The boy loves his suckers!

Halloween Party

Keaton's right on target, he's starting to line up his cars just as like big brother Connor did when he was two.

Connor's preschool Halloween party was today. They had a costume parade, played games, had treats, and picked a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

He was the cutest little zookeeper I've ever seen! Keaton's going to be the monkey, and Cooper the banana. It's probably the only year they'll all be something that goes together.

Cooper was super thrilled to watch the parade.

Sweet baby Keaton turns two years old today. Seems just like yesterday Connor was so excited to meet his new baby brother. Our little pumpkin is getting so big now and is now a big brother to Cooper. Keaton is our happy, adventureous, energetic, friendly boy and we love him dearly. Happy 2nd Birthday Keaton!!!

Connor got a whole lot of weaponry for his birthday. Gone are the days of buying puzzles, trains and cars. The boy loves his guns, swords, and arrows.

Keaton has a mighty cute set of bear houseshoes, we could never get Connor to wear them.

September is for Birthdays

Connor turned the big 5 on September 18th and my birthday was the 19th (34 if you were wondering). Michael's mom, Mama D, had a birthday on the 25th. Next week will be Keaton's 2nd birthday so we are celebrating all of the time.

We've been trying to get the garage in order and the boys enjoyed hanging out on the ladder.

Cooper is doing well and is the biggest chunk ever at 15 pounds. He looks like a three month old to me. He's doing very well and is smiling and cooing which is so cute. He is sleeping well and through the night so that's a plus.

Can you tell Connor is so excited in this picture? I took Cooper for his one month checkup today (he's actually 5 weeks now). He weighs a whopping 13 pounds (100th percentile) and 24 1/2 inches (95 percentile). He's a big boy and is so sweet and hardly ever cries except when eating. He's got reflux just like his brothers and we are hoping this new medicine will help things a bit. He did smile for the first time today too!

Our Little Sleeper

Cooper is doing very well. He is sleeping as I type this, which is pretty much what he does all day. And we're not complaining one bit!! He has been eating, sleeping and pooping through his first few weeks of life. It will be two weeks this coming Tuesday since his exciting arrival.

Love this little smirk he has on his face. Can't wait to see him truly smile at us in a month or so.

Can I say it's been a bit hot around here? I think I heard it's one of the hottest summers on record, and I was pregnant with a 9 pound baby! We've spent a little time outside but mostly at the pool. Keaton really enjoys playing with the water hose and Daddy taught him how to drink out of it too.

The big boys enjoy sitting in all of Cooper's bouncy seats. They leave them turned on all day so we'll be buying lots of batteries.
