Kerrie's Wedding

Our very good friend, Kerrie Allen got married on May 20th to Nate Heider in Paducah. I was a bridesmaid in the wedding, so the grandparents got to take turns keeping Connor for us. We had a good time, and it was nice not to have to get up so early for once!

Bye-Bye Bumper Pads

We said bye-bye to the bumper pads recently. I hated to take them out of the crib because Connor loved them so much. He went to sleep every night by rubbing one side with his right hand and would roll over and rub them with his left hand. I guess since they were really soft it felt relaxing to him. He'd also try to snuggle up right against them with his face, so that meant it was time for them to go. We'll miss them so!!

Jobu

Some of you are familiar with our cat Jobu, and for those of you that aren't....she's not very nice. She does love Michael and I and is very sweet to us, but we weren't sure how she would take Connor. At first she was confused and stayed clear of him, but as time passed she began to check him out more. After a few months Connor was very interested in Jobu as well and watched her every move. He still gets the biggest smile when he sees her, and is trying to get close enough to grab her fur. She's been really good with him, but when he's more mobile I have a feeling she'll be running away from him 24/7.

I Love My Crib!

Connor's new favorite thing is to sit in his crib and play. I guess he's tired of just sleeping in it. He gets the biggest smile when I put him in there to take his picture as you can see.

Mother's Day

We had a nice first Mother's Day together. Connor and Michael got me flowers and ballon that Connor LOVED to play with, and took me to dinner. Becoming a mom has been an experience I could never have imagined, and I am so lucky to have such a sweet little boy.

The World is Upside Down

Connor thinks the world is much more interesting when viewing it upside down. He leans back on his boppy and looks around at everything.

Lookin' Good in Your Hat

We thought he looked pretty cute in his new hat.

Easter in Murray

Connor and I went to Murray for Easter sadly without daddy because great grandpa Carr was in the hospital and daddy went to visit him in New Jersey. His great Aunt Alice, Uncle Nick, and Aunt Ashley were all in town as well. Connor had a great time with the Easter eggs he found in his basket and Mimi got a bunny holding an egg with a chick inside that popped out while singing a funny Easter song. At first he was perplexed, but after a few go-arounds loved the bunny and chick. We listened to that song 100 times over the weekend.

6 Month Pictures

We took Connor back for his 6 month pictures and this time he didn't pee on me! We were those parents you see that make fools of themselves trying to get our child to smile. It worked though.

Bathtime in the Sink

I've figured out it's much easier to have bathtime in the kitchen sink than in the bathtub. We get soaked in the process, but Connor loves to splash in the water. His favorite bathtoy......the plastic cup I rinse his hair with. Go figure.

Conrah

Connor went to visit his girlfriend, Sarah Umbarger, in Benton over Easter weekend. Her mommy Angie and I were roommates in college and we've decided to have an arranged marriage for Connor and Sarah, but we're not telling them that just yet. They just looked at Angie and I like we were crazy as we were trying to pose them and get them to smile. Angie named them the new supercouple, Conrah, in the spirit of Bennifer and Brangelina.

Mmmmm....carrots

Can you say carrot face?

Frogman

Connor will probably hate me when he's older for dressing him in this outfit, but I think it's cute!

Connor vs. Green Beans

Sometimes we get through our meals without much mess, but on this day the green beans won. They were all over everything and everyone. When he gets tired and rubs his face the food gets in his eyes, on his hands, and even up his nose. You can always tell what he's been eating because the inside of his nose may be orange, yellow, or green.

You're Halfway There

On March 18, 2006 Connor turned 6 months old! He's halfway to turning 1 and we just can't believe how time flies. What a difference 6 months can make. Now he's sitting up on his own, rolling over, eating solids, and putting everything in his mouth.

This Isn't So Bad Afterall

At first he hated to lay on his stomach for tummy time, but now he's decided it's not so bad.

Go Racers!!!

Yes, Connor has a stuffed Dunker, Murray State blanket, shirt, socks, and outfit. On game days Michael made sure that Connor wore his gold and blue! We'll see where he ends up going to college, it's a toss-up at this point with most of his family being MSU alumni, Michael being such a UK fan, and us living in Louisville. Who knows he may not even pick a Kentucky school at all.

What a Difference a Year Makes

What a difference 1 year can make. Just one year ago we were in Murray telling our families the good news about our baby on the way. Now one year later we're in town visiting with our 5 month old! I know I'll be saying this a lot now, but time flies.

February Is For Firsts

He had some firsts in February.....such as his first ear infection and first time for veggies. We went to visit family in Nashville the weekend before Valentine's Day and when we got there Connor screamed all night long. We had no idea what was wrong with him so took him to the doctor on Monday and he had an ear infection. He also tried veggies for the first time and seemed to like them except for peas (and I don't blame him).

Just Hanging with Daddy

Connor loves to hang out with his daddy on the couch.

The Photo Chair

The chair in Connor's bedroom is known as the photo chair because that's where he gets many of his pictures taken after he gets dressed. He started losing all that pretty dark brown hair soon after this picture was taken.

Happy New Year!!

We celebrated New Year's Eve in Louisville this year. Our friends Thomas and Nancy and their little boy Evan came over to hang out with us. The little guys didn't make it until midnight, but the rest of us did. We've now realized it's not good when you go to bed late because now we have an alarm clock that wakes up at 7am every morning and it doesn't even have to be set!

First Christmas

We were excited to celebrate Connor's first Christmas even though he had RSV. His doctor called him the "happy wheezer" because he was smiling and as happy as could be, but sounded terrible. Santa was pretty good to him this year as were all his grandparents. He got lots of toys and clothes and even a special UK car from Mimi and Papa. Go Cats!!
