Bedrest Blues

Okay, so it's Sunday afternoon and I'm bored to death so you get to read a few new posts. I've been on bedrest since Thursday afternoon (doctor's orders) and after a few days of laying in bed it's really getting old. I know some of you are probably thinking you'd love a few days off to rest but it's different when you feel fine and are forced to be in bed when you have plans. I'm doing okay today so hopefully I'll be able to make it to work tomorrow. We hated to miss our plans over the weekend and even got free tickets to watch Thunder Over Louisville at the Galt House. For those of you wondering what Thunder is it's the official kick off to Derby via a huge fireworks show. We hated to miss it especially since it was pretty cold and we would have been indoors. Oh well, maybe next year! Earlier this week Connor and friend Gavin attended the Pottery Barn Kids music concert by a two ladies named, "Eve and Mare." We watched for a little bit and headed down to the boat to slide with every other kid out on Spring Break. The boys also put in a little driving time on the old school bus.
Connor's discovered dinosaurs and loves to carry his dinosaurs everywhere. They take baths, help him color, and sometimes he feeds them Cheerios. They also like to bite people's fingers and toes.

The Little Fireman

Last Tuesday was a field trip to the North Oldam Fire Department with many moms and kids from my Mom's Club. Connor was so excited to be going to see the firetrucks. All of the kids got hats and coloring books courtesy of the fire department.
Connor tried out the amubulance. I think this was the high point of the trip for him because he really wasn't interested in getting in the actual firetruck (probably because it was running and pretty loud).

"Look at those mommies up there!" This is is what he was telling me in the picture below. They extended the ladder and let several volunteers climb the up the very top. Tanya from my playgroup was one of the brave ones who tried it out in full fireman's gear no less. You couldn't pay me to climb that thing!

Just a general update from our little world. I am 12 weeks (as of last Friday) and the baby is doing well. We had another ultrasound on Friday and everything was as it should be. We find out the sex of the baby on May 14th and we can't wait! I feel pretty good still other than the usual tiredness that hits after dinner every night.

I've also started physical therapy twice a week which is supposed to help my back injury from the wreck back in February. I'm not sure how long I'll have to go we'll just have to wait and see. Being pregnant and having back pain has allowed me to do a whole bunch of nothing around the house so the dust bunnies have grown and are now more like dust elephants.

Connor went with us this weekend to shop for a sleeper sofa since our guest room will be the baby's room. He was so well behaved and even gave us some feedback. At one point he jumped up on a couch and said, "Daddy this one is comfortable." He also decided that wearing sunglasses was a good way to shop while looking very chic.
