37 Week Update

I am now 37 weeks and we think that Keaton will be here very soon. I went to have an ultrasound today and he's looking to be at 8 pounds 3 ounces give or take a pound. I hope it's take a pound and he's only 7 pounds 3 ounces! He looked great and the doctor said I am 3 1/2 to 4 cm dilated and 90% effaced, so progress from last week's appointment. He thought that I could go at any time and figured it be in the next week. After going on a date tonight (thanks to Elizabeth for watching Connor) we came home and got to packing because you never know.....

Who doesn't love a big old box to play in? The bassinet came this week so Connor tried out the "tunnel."
Giving mommy and Keaton some love. Everybody's asked us if Connor's excited about having a baby, he says he's excited and that he's going to give him hugs and kisses so he doesn't cry. I told him that baby brother will be here very soon and he's bringing him a surprise gift and he thought that sounded pretty exciting too.

Birthday Party

The birthday party at My Gym was a big hit. We had lots of friends and family that came and Connor had a blast. Thanks to all who came to celebrate with us and for all of the great birthday gifts!

He said after the party was over, "My party was so much fun!" I'm glad he thought so.

Since he loves "Finding Nemo" we did a Nemo theme with different colored fish cupcakes.

I had to show this gift bag my Aunt Alice made for Connor. If you look closely it's a family of monkeys that look just like us. Michael even has googly eyes!

Riding on the zip line was a favorite for everyone.

The bubbles were a big hit too.

Just a few more pictures from the weekend of Michael's family.

More Birthday Pictures

Connor donning the traditional birthday hat.
He seemed to enjoy all of his gifts from mommy and daddy. One favorite is a book called Hush Little Dragon. Perfect for a dragon lover.
Eating a yellow upside down cupcake from the Homemade Pie and Ice Cream Kitchen.
My parents came in for my birthday and Connor's party on Saturday (birthday party pictures to come).
He's trying to watch the movie that Mimi and Poppy brought him. Totally not interested in a family photo.

Friday, September 19th

It was a busy weekend for us, Erica and Ben came to visit us Friday afternoon since they were in town for the Ryder Cup.

We celebrated my birthday by going out to eat with my parents and then opened some gifts after dinner. Connor loved all of his birthday gifts from Mimi and Poppy. He played us a few tunes on his new drum set.

Birthday Boy Goes to the Zoo

We decided last Thursday was a great day for the zoo. The birthday boy agreed. The zoo was without power as most of Louisville was last week but it didn't phase us. Well, it did me a bit, I didn't like visiting the bathroom in complete darkness but I got over it. Always at the top of the list to see was the tiger. We also played a bit and rode the little train around the zoo.
Love the meerkats, and check out the one on the far right. He's either sleepy or had too much to drink I'm not sure.
Because the power was out they didn't have much food available so we finished off the trip with a visit to McDonald's, what more can a boy ask for?

"Swagon"

Connor's Halloween outfit came in the mail last week and he's so excited about being a "swagon" or dragon. He immediately stripped down to his undies and put on his new duds. I have to say I think he's the cutest dragon I've ever seen!

Update!

Just a quick update.

1. I turned 32 today, and 3 years ago today I was in the hospital with a 1 day old baby.

2. I am 2 1/2 to 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced as of this morning at my 36 week appointment. The doctor said it could still be a few more weeks. At this point I don't think I'll be making it to Keaton's actual due date of October 18th, but I hope I can make it to October at least!

That's it for now. We'll keep you posted and will post some birthday pictures after this weekend.

Happy 3rd Birthday Connor!

Happy Birthday to our sweet little boy. I can't believe that 3 years ago today we met you for the first time. You make us smile each day just being you and when you talk in that precious little voice of yours it melts our hearts. Even though the signs of being a baby are gone, no more diapers, bottles, pacifiers, you'll always be our baby. We love you very much! Here's to many more happy days.....
I was telling Connor a few weeks ago that he peed on me in this last picture because he wasn't wearing a diaper. I tell him he showered me with love. He thought that was hilarious and every time he sees it above our couch he says, "I peed on on you when I was a baby!" Sometimes he tells me when he wants me to pretend he's a baby and hold him and then says, "I peed on you" but he's just referring to the picture thank goodness.

Papaw and Gigi came up a few weekends ago and the boys went to the UK game.
Connor trying out his new bed, and if we can ever get the room finished we'll move him in.
Hanging out with daddy and eating the rest of his dinner. If you ask Connor what his favorite food is he'll say, fruit salad. The boy could eat an entire bowl of it at every meal.
Mommy, Connor, and baby doll Keaton.
A few pictures from the game.

Birthday Parties

Lots of birthday parties in the month of September which means lots of birthday cake. We went to Gavin and Riley's 3rd birthday parties these past two weeks. Connor's counting down the days until his 3rd birthday which is this Thursday the 18th, followed by mine on the 19th.

Very taken with Gavin's little sister, Kaitlyn. He just giggled and talked baby talk to her. Then he said that baby is just so nice! It was good practice for him since Keaton will be here before we know it!

The Cave

This is Connor's cave, built by pillows and blankets on our bed. The latest game involves fighting the dragons or "swagons " as he calls them. We spray imaginary water on them with our hoses when they breathe fire and use our swords to pop them on the head, as he says.

Keaton Update

I am now 33 weeks, only 7 weeks to go, or maybe less if I'm lucky. We had another ultrasound and doctor's appointment last Friday and things looked great with the amniotic fluid levels. According to the technician Keaton has a lot of hair on his head, as did Connor. He's a busy boy and spends lots of time kicking me in the ribs. Last time we checked he was estimated at 4 1/2 pounds so I think he's over 5 pounds at this point and it's getting pretty crowded in there. I start seeing the doctor every 2 weeks now and we scheduled another ultrasound in a month to check on things again.

Baby Shower

I had a shower at work recently and one of the doctors that I work with made this cute cake. She is so talented and could open her own business. She's always bringing in trial cakes and we are happy to give her feedback. She even made the letters out of icing that say "Keaton." That's talent if you ask me! We got some more nice things for Keaton, including a U of L onsie/bib and a U of L t-shirt for big brother. Michael, being the die hard UK fan that he is said it was fine if they wanted to wear their red but they couldn't wear them when they were playing UK.
