Just a Few Little Toesies

I love a picture of a sandy foot. No, I don't have a foot fetish if you're starting to wonder. I show this picture of Connor's "toesies" as he calls them because as of late he's decided that getting his toenails cut is pure torture. Fingernails? No problem. We beg and plead with him, even bribe him with one marshmallow per trimmed toe, but NO!!! During his weekly torture session the cat even came up to him to make sure he was okay, and she never does that. I don't know what the solution to this dilemma is, if anyone has any suggestions we'd love to hear them.

Man Overboard!!

One morning earlier this week I went into Keaton's room to retrieve him from his crib and he was standing up facing the wall just talking to himself. I startled him and he quickly turned around and fell backwards. I yelled to Michael, "Daddy, it's time to move the mattress down again!" I could see him just flipping out over the top of the crib, but luckily he made it through the day and we got his crib moved to the lowest level where it will stay until he's ready to move into a big bed. I got video of the boys standing up and falling down in the crib together and just laughing about it. So cute.

Good Eatin' Keaton

"Good Eatin' Keaton" is a phrase that is said quite a bit around our house. He's taken a liking to biter biscuits and puffs. The puffs usually get stuck to his wet hands so we pick them off more than he actually eats them, but it's practice. The picture above is for you Aunt Ashley!!

Our Keaton boy is 8 months old today! It's really hard to believe. We've already packed up the baby tub, bouncy seats, bumbos and boppys because this baby is on the move. Pulling up on furniture and exploring all the nooks and crannies of our house. I'm sure bare coffee tables and end tables are in our immediate future. We don't have a doctor's visit until 9 months so I'm not sure of his weight, but my guess is over 20 pounds. This one has thunder thighs like you wouldn't believe.

Random Bits

Had to share a picture of some beautiful flowers from the yard. Pro-they smelled great and brightened up the dining room. Con-they came with lots and lots of ants, did I say lots??
Yep, Keaton is smiling again. Surprised? Not me.
Connor's preschool class made shirts with everyone's handprints on them. So cute. The teachers asked them to wear them on their last day. I thought he might be excited to be out of school, but the first Monday rolled around and he asked if we were going to school and was disappointed with my answer. I miss him going to school too, it was a nice break for me twice a week!
The boys had their first bath together several weeks ago. Both seemed to enjoy the company since they've been bathing solo. Keaton loves to splash, Connor not so much loving Keaton and the splashing. But hey, what's having a little brother if he's not at least a little bit annoying?

Connor's Update

Connor was great on this trip, only slept a few hours both ways, give him a movie and he's good.
One thing he was not good at was putting suntan lotion on. We ran around trying to catch him with white hands covered in lotion several times a day. It was exhausting!
This kid loves the beach and sticks. Combine these two together and you have one happy marching soldier. People had to stop and laugh at him when he yelled, "Forward, march......ATTAAACK!!!!"
The UK/GA war was on as usual when Nick and Ashley are in town. Connor was a traitor and wore Nick's Georgia hat and yelled, "Go DAWGS!"
Just catching some rays and relaxing.
Sand is good, but not when it's all over your body, face, hands, etc. He kept doing face plants in the sand and getting upset when sand got in his eyes and mouth.
This was when we got to our condo, he was so excited to see the waves again. In other news.....He's now out of preschool for the summer and misses it already. He had great teachers and classmates and I know he learned a lot. He's always singing a song and asks me to join in, but I never know exactly what song he's singing.

Keaton's Update

I cannot brag on how well Keaton did on his long trip to Florida. We drove to Nashville the first night and spent the night with my aunt and uncle. My parents met us that morning and we finished up the rest of the trip, which took the entire day with a few stops for eating, changing diapers, etc. Connor got some quality time with Mimi and Poppy in their car and it gave us a break since the kid doesn't sleep in the car!
He only ate one handful of sand the whole trip, but it could have been more if it weren't for the baby tent we had. What a good thing to take the the beach! He had a nap in it as well and we've since used it outside when Connor and I are playing soccer for the hundreth time.
He also snoozed in my lap under the umbrella. Very relaxing I must say.
Just a happy boy like always. He was great staying up later since we got him WAY off schedule.
Thanks Kerrie for letting him borrow one of Bailey's cute hats and swimsuit.
He also started crawling on vacation and now he's a pro and is exploring the entire house.
