Race Day

Michael ran in the mini marathon as part of the Derby Festival this year. He didn't get to do a lot of training beforehand, but he finished which was his main goal this year. This year they had 10,000 runners!
Congrats to our friends Dave and Kristen on their engagement after the race!!

Photo Shoot

I know, I know we took a lot of pictures this week what can I say. I didn't tell Connor we were going to have a photoshoot but he certainly knows how to pose for one. Check out his many looks........

Cheery
I know he's getting a haircut next week!
Seriously what is this??
I'm a little shy
I know a secret and you don't.
Just relaxing here.

Bubbles

The boy loves his bubbles. The first thing he asked for after breakfast this week? You guessed it....bubbles!!

Daddy's Chair

Michael's parents came up to visit and brought Michael's rocking chair. It didn't take long before Connor was rocking away in it.

If you ask him "Where's Connor?" He'll point directly to his nose.

Visiting With Friends

My friend Susan who moved from Louisville a few years ago to North Carolina came in for a conference we were having at the medical school and she brought her daughter, Harper, with her. It was fun to visit because we haven't seen each other since I was pregnant. Harper and Connor had fun playing at the mall on the schoolbus ride. I didn't think Connor was going to share the ride but he eventually came around.
They also both have a thing for playing with the locks on their strollers. Here's Harper trying to get in on the action.

What's the best way to relax after a hard day? Just laying around with a blankie on the kitchen floor.
Nice stain there buddy.
The hunchback of Notre Dame.
Connor's developed into a little locksmith lately. He'll lock and unlock anything he can find. Hopefully he won't figure out how to unlock his carseat.

The Good Ol' Days

My cousin, Kelley, sent me these recently and I had to laugh to myself at how funny we looked on our family trips to Florida. So now you get to laugh at them too! Look at those skinny little legs...we were showing off our hundreds of jelly bracelets. I look like I have blue-blockers on too. Lovely.
I am embarrassed that I actually wore this hat. It's too bad I don't have it anymore. I could wear it to the Derby. Or not.

Murray Trip

We've not been back to Murray since Christmas, so it was time for a visit. Here's Connor with his friend Ben Fritsche that we all got to meet for the first time (here with his mommy, Erica, also my longtime friend from kindergarden.)

Taking some down time to watch a video with mommy-and blankie too.
I think you're sitting the wrong way buddy!
Mimi purchased a new vacuum just for Connor, and it even came with a mini dirt devil!!
Here he is handcuffed with his rings. His idea, not mine.
A "Connor sized" computer to keep at Mimi and Poppy's house for our little technology fan.

A Lesson From Connor

"First, you take the thermometer in your right hand."
"Then you lift up your shirt and stick the silver end into your belly button."

Cleaning Out the Cabinets

It's been many months since we child-proofed our kitchen cabinets, but the one cabinet we let Connor have full reign in is the one that houses the tupperware (and there's lots and lots of it). Last week he decided to take every single piece out and throw it across the kitchen floor. Then he preceeded to try and lock himself in the cabinet.

Spring Pictures

Here are some spring pictures we had done recently.

I scanned them so they may not look all that great.

Happy Easter!!

This is our little guy on Easter Sunday last year. He had the chubbiest cheeks and looks so little compared to what he looks like now. The difference in this year and last year is now he won't sit still for a minute so we can take a picture and it didn't feel like Easter with 30 degree temps!!

Easter Pictures

After church today, we went to have brunch at the Bristol. Connor managed to get purple juice from the blueberries all over his pants and sweater. I've now realized that wearing white is not the best idea for little boys. Last week he left the California Pizza Kitchen with spaghetti sauce on his pants, shirt, socks and shoes and on my sweater too! Note to self: Don't order spaghetti unless you bring a tarp and a poncho.
Connor wanted to take some pictures too. This was the 2nd outfit of the day, the one he was supposed to wear for Easter, but plans changed when winter decided to come back.
The Easter Bunny brought not one, but two baskets and a cool wagon filled with blocks.

Happy Easter!!!

A Visit with Mimi and Poppy

Mimi came to visit us last week since Michael was out of town and Poppy came up for Easter weekend. We were disappointed in the change in weather. It's no fun to spread mulch in 30 degree temperatures!!

Connor decided to try out Mimi's shoes. He said they were a little big, but very comfortable.
This is the day he picked up the cat's poop and threw it in the trashcan.

Fish face!!!!

Gotta get to cleanin'.
