Keaton's Baptism

Keaton's baptism at church was this past weekend. We had lots of family in and had a great weekend with everyone (including warm weather!). He did so well with the whole process and tried to take a dive into the water when our minister was holding him.
Michael's Aunt Ellen, and cousins Spencer and Laurel all from Atlanta.
Michael's side....Evan, Allison and Walker (his sister and family) and his parents Mama D and PaPaw.
The whole fam.
My parents, Mimi and Poppy and Aunt Alice and Uncle Jimmy from Nashville.

Connor kept asking me during the service when they were going to sprinkle the water on Keaton's head. He was most concerned about that.
And finally after a long wait in church traffic we had brunch at the Bristol with everyone. As you can see we wore our little baptized baby out! It was a very special day and we were so happy that we had lots of family to enjoy it with us. We love our Keaton boy!

Trying to Crawl

Keaton's trying his best to become a crawler with a lot of rocking back and forth on his hands and knees. He's mobile now, but it involves some rolling and back crawling to get where he wants to go. I put him down the other day in the middle of the den and when I came back he had scooted backwards all the way to the couch and was almost under it. He gets in a push up position and gets his knees up in the air and that's about it. As you can see here....

Spring Pictures

We took the boys for some pictures several weeks ago. The main goal was to get some for Keaton's 6 month milestone. They both did so well and no tears! Keaton did pee in Michael's hand and all over the black curtain backdrop, but oh well "Pee Happens" right?

Aunt Doris

My grandmother's sister, Aunt Doris, passed away today. She was a really neat woman and so funny. She reminds me of Rose on the Golden Girls. In reading I found out that she was Clairee in Steel Magnolias (the play) my all time favorite girly movie. We'll miss her.

Doris "Widgie" Williams Lantrip
Date:October 9th, 1926 - April 23rd, 2009
Doris Nadine Williams Lantrip, 82, of Madison and formerly of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland, MS. Mrs. Lantrip was born in Independence, Missouri on October 9, 1926, the younger of two daughters of Margaret and Irby Williams. She spent her early childhood in Kansas City, Missouri where she and her family lived over the restaurant they owned and operated before losing it in the Great Depression. They moved to Clarksville, TN, where she graduated high school in 1944. Some of the jobs in her teenage years included working at the local drug store soda fountain. She attended Austin Peay University for two years before relocating to Nashville, TN. She became employed at the local phone company but transferred to Memphis, TN, where she met her husband, Jimmy Lantrip. They married February 26, 1949. While living in Memphis, they started their family but moved to Aberdeen only to move after a short time to Jackson. This home was even more short-lived as they moved to Yazoo City and lived there for 13 years. It was here that they completed their family of four children. Doris enjoyed doing bookkeeping for the accounting department of Kings Daughter’s Hospital. Following Jimmy’s employment opportunities, Jimmy and “Widgie” moved to Waynesboro where she lived for almost 29 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She had various jobs, ranging from working at First National Bank, Northern Electric, Winningham Ford, Production Credit Association, and Quality Motors. To keep in touch with her friends and neighbors, her final job was a greeter at Wal-Mart. To be closer to children, she lived briefly in Louisville, KY, before returning home to the metro Jackson area. Her final residence was at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison. Doris enjoyed many hobbies including theatre. She was in many Waynesboro Little Theatre Productions, including Arsenic and Old Lace, The Women, 6 Rms Riv Vu, Barefoot in the Park, Pure as the Driven Snow, Harvey, and The Odd Couple. One of her favorite roles was playing the role of Clairee Belcher in Gilbertown (AL) BTAS Theatre’s production of Steel Magnolias. She also enjoyed her singing debut in Waynesboro’s Follies (1980) and return to the stage in the 1984 Follies. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Milam Lantrip. Mrs. Lantrip is survived by her son Eric Lantrip (wife Roxann) of Brandon; daughter Jan Lantrip Cambre (husband John), of Gautier; son Kevin Lantrip (wife Tandi Jo) of Woodbridge, VA; and son Bryan Stacy Lantrip (wife Connie) of Brandon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nathan Lantrip of Brandon, Drew Lantrip (wife Jen) of Florence, Italy, Matthew Lantrip (wife Sue), Destin, FL, as well as Jackson Lantrip, Benjamin Lantrip and Olivia Lantrip, all of Brandon. Widgie is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Erin Halford, Amy Halford, and Haley Halford, all of Brandon. Visitation will be Friday, April 24, 2009, from 5:00-9:00 p.m., at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro with services following on Saturday, April 25 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home. Even though the weather has turned a bit chilly again we've been spending some time outdoors. We are soooo ready for warmer weather!

Here's Connor showing off his mad face.
And now his sad face. How pitiful.

Easter Highlights

Easter weekend was busy for us and as you can see we just wore Keaton out! Saturday we skipped our usual soccer date and had some pictures done since Keaton's 6 months. The boys were great and Michael got a handful of pee courtesy of our little guy. Note to self....be sure to bring an extra pair of clothes for mommy and daddy next time just in case!
We went to the 9:30am service at church (they have 3 on Easter Sunday) and then headed to the Cheesecake Factory for brunch. It was soooo good.

Why is there a soccer goal in our den you ask? Daddy thought it was a good idea for the Easter bunny to deliver it. Connor was beyond happy and it's still in our den blocking the entire couch. Hopefully we can make the move and keep it outdoors from now on.
Keaton just hanging out at the restaurant.
Easter bunny wanted to make sure that the babe has some shades for the beach. Looking good buddy!
Every kid loves that little furry friend that sneaks into your house the night before Easter because he brings you loads of candy. I think Connor consumed at least 5 pieces before breakfast. We have to ration it out or we'd have a kid hanging from the ceiling fan on a sugar high. At least the bunny was smart enough to include a toothbrush in the basket as well.

Happy Easter!

Wishing you all a happy Easter weekend. We had to go back in the archives and show you Connor on his first Easter.

Michael's mom brought us some large Easter eggs and we decided to pretend we had babies in our bellies. Connor's having a boy since he's obviously carrying low and mine's a girl because she looks very high to me.
Cute Connor story.....
Daddy: "Connor who are your favorite people?"
Connor: "Mimi, Poppy, Mama D, PaPaw and
Mommy and Daddy. Who are your favorite people?"
Daddy: "Well, you, Keaton, Mommy, Mama D...."
Connor: (Cutting Daddy off) "NO! Those are my favorite people, get your own!"

The Boys

Party in Keaton's crib at 5:00. Be there or be square.
When I came in to get him up from his nap this was how I found him. Playing Peek-a-boo with his bumper pads.

Happy 6 Months Keaton!

Our little guy turned 6 months old on April 4th. Hard to believe he's already half way to a year. He's come a long way since October 4th. He's sitting up, rolling over from his back and stomach, babbling and blowing raspberries constantly. Most of the time when we come to get him up from a nap or in the morning he's on his stomach in his "baby push up" position and you can see his little smiling face up above the bumper pads. As I've said several times already he smiles non-stop and loves to watch his big brother in action. He's eating lots of fruits and veggies and makes the funniest face when he takes his first bite, sort of like he's eating a lemon. We go for his 6 month check up next week so we'll update you with his new stats.
Mommy finally put new batteries in the Easter bunny Mimi got Connor for his first Easter. What baby wouldn't love a singing/dancing bunny and chick?
Where are pictures of Connor you ask? We don't have any new ones since he spent his spring break with both sets of grandparents in Murray. He was telling people that he was on vacation from school. He had a blast with Mimi and Poppy and Mama D and PaPaw, but they said he did miss us too. It was pretty quiet around here with just Keaton, but we got quite a few things done around the house.
Here he is getting in a little work out before lunch. Baby push ups make those little arms strong!
