More Halloween Celebrations

Sunday was the day to party. Michael had to do some much needed yard work so the little giraffe and I headed over to My Gym for a Halloween party.
Connor was very interested a little boy named Evan who was dressed as a football player. He kept trying to sneak over and steal his helmet. Guess we know what to look for on the Halloween costume sale rack.

Mymo the monkey, who is the gym mascot, came by to visit with the kids. As you can see they were mesmerized by the monkey. Connor kept giving him high fives and tried to get him to dance. As we were leaving with some candy he said the monkey wanted a sucker too.

After a much needed nap we went to a party at Michael's coworker's house. Elizabeth and Chris invited friends and kids for a total of 7 boys under the age of 3. It was craziness. We opted for painting our pumpkin over carving. This was a bad decision because we didn't realize that Chris bought permanent paint! Oh well, he was outgrowing that shirt anyway and only a little got in his hair.
We carved our pumpkins last night, and Connor wasn't too interested. He did enjoy the pumpkin ice cream we got afterwards from Graeter's. So good!!

Hanging With the Buddies

We had a busy week with music class, a visit to the Science Center, playing with friends at Kazoing and two Halloween parties yesterday. Connor also spent some quality time with some of his furry friends on the couch. Shreck is the new movie of choice, with Cars occasionally thrown in. The entourage included (from left to right) Puppy, Kitty, Nanny, and Ducky.

Weekend Fun

We had Connor's cousin, Walker, staying with us for the weekend while his parents went to the UK/Fl game in Lexington. Connor adores his big cousin and I think Walker feels the same for him. They had a blast together.

Friday night was spent checking out Halloween decorations on Hillcrest Avenue. We found out it's the thing to do around here in October. According to the woman who had labeled her outdoor decor as "Dante's Disco Inferno" (which included a disco ball, mirrored dance floor and several dancing ghouls) the tradition started with two neighbors on Hillcrest trying to out decorate one another during Halloween, and eventually most of the street joined in. The boys loved it and it was a nice night for a walk.

Huber's

Saturday morning we went to Huber's Orchard and Winery just over the river in Indiana for a brisk ride on the tractor to pick pumpkins.
The kid's area was lots of fun with slides, jumping things, animals to feed, and swings.

Trick or Treating at the Zoo

Funny story about the giraffe costume. I love giraffes and I bought this at the Cracker Barrell in Murray about 5 years ago hoping that someday I would have a 2T size child at Halloween. Lucky me, it fits him this year. We took the boys to the trick or treat party the zoo has and it was sooooo crowded. I think the nice weather brought everyone and their mama out. We committed a big sin....candy was eaten before dinner!

This was Walker's light saber that came with the outfit but the zoo was selling fancy light up ones for $5 so we bought them both one and they had fun chasing each other around the house with sabers in hand. Elmo was a celebrity that night, all of the kids wanted to have their picture with him, including Connor and Walker.

Football

After scoring a few footballs from PaPaw in Murray Connor practicted his football poses for the camera.
Michael calls this one his Heisman pose.

More Homecoming Pictures

I had to post these pictures too. Nancy sent these to us from our friend Cooper who took a few pictures over the weekend. Below are Michael and his HS buddies, Thomas, Darren and Scott and of course more of the boys and their suckers! Check out Connor's big score, two handfuls of candy!

Pretty in Pink

Wondering why this child is wearing a hot pink girl's shirt that says, "Got Braces?" I'll tell you. We keep an extra outfit at school for accidents. Several weeks ago Connor had a #2 situation in both the outfit he wore to school and his extra outfit, and the only thing they had in his room was a pair of light blue shorts and this pink shirt. He didn't want to take it off when he got home.

Homecoming Weekend

We went to Murray this past weekend for MSU's Homecoming. This was the first time I'd been to the parade in years and years due to the annual get together at the ATO house:) Most of the family was in attendance as well as a few friends.....
Here's Connor with Evan, son of Thomas and Nancy Daniels, and Emma, daughter of Darren and Lindy Gantt. Michael went to high school with Thomas and Darren so it was fun to have all of our kids together. The kids had to have been on a major sugar high from all of the candy they got at the parade.
Racer One in the parade
Dunker in the firetruck was also a hit.
Watch out for that sucker Daddy!
The MSU Band

Yep, here they are again with suckers!
