Michael's Mom

Please pray for Michael's mom, Donna. She was in a serious car accident yesterday afternoon and has multiple broken bones. She's at Vanderbuilt Hospital in Nashville and will have surgery to repair several of the bones today.

Connor's Birthday Weekend (and mine)

Connor, cousin Walker, and Keaton at lunch on Saturday for my birthday.
Connor's awesome Thomas the Train cake courtesy of my friend Jennie.

I'm thinking this is a great JCPenney catalog pose.
Keaton browsing the toy bins.
A new scooter!!

It was Christmas morning on September 18th this year. Sweet old daddy burned the midnight oil until the wee hours of the morning putting this train table together for the birthday boy. He loved it, and I have to say it really is pretty cool.

Birthday Dinner

Z's Fusion downtown Louisville=fantastic dinner.
Jennie (a.k.a. the cake maker) and her husband Kris. His birthday was two days after mine so we had dinner to celebrate both.
Molten chocolate cake. So good.

U2 Chicago 9/12/09

We went to Chicago with Dave and Kristen Wilson this past weekend. We were going for the U2 Concert on Saturday and to celebrate my birthday coming up on the 19th. We also had another reason to celebrate......Michael got his job back! He was let go when they cut 1/2 of the Louisville sales force a few weeks ago, but then rehired for the Southern Indiana territory Friday afternoon. Big relief!!

This was the area we stayed in by the Water Tower. Very weird fog action going on Saturday.

We stalked the band at their hotel on Saturday before the concert. How long did we wait?? Two and a half hours, but hey when you are a big fan you'll do anything.
Here's Adam shaking hands right in front of us.

The Edge shaking hands too. No Bono or Larry, but we were happy to see two of them.

Dinner at Mike Ditka's on Friday.

The view walking to Soldier Field for the concert. Perfect weather.

It was a great show, opening night for their US leg of the tour. So exciting!!

Happy 11 Months Keaton!!

Yes my friends, another month has come and gone and we have an 11 month old. He's still a happy boy, good eater, sleeper, pooper, etc. He's taken his first few steps and I have a feeling he might be walking by his 1st birthday. Watch out world!!

Go Cats!!

Football season has started so be prepared to see lots of blue in our upcoming posts. You will also see lots of Connor's new squinty eye smile as well. It seems to be making an appearance quite often these days.

First Day of Preschool

Connor's first day of preschool at Crestwood Baptist was last Wednesday. He was super excited and his teachers said he was great and a wonderful helper. Makes a momma proud. The other story of the day was his teacher asked if he knew this little girl Tatum from school last year. I said no and she told me that they held hands the entire time. So cute! I asked him about her later and he said, "She loves me." Oh my!!

Little Friends

My friend Jennie's son Ryan came over last week to play while she took her oldest to preschool orientation. Although they are almost a year apart in age they play so well together.

Looks like he's saying, "Hmmmmm.....what shall I do today?"

Keaton is a book lover just like his big brother.
Sweet baby boy with sweet little curls. Melts my heart.
Yes, it's Superman!

Saying Goodbye to Jobu

We made the decision to put our sweet Jobu down before we left for Savannah. She had a tumor on her back right leg that grew from a small grape to a large lemon in a matter of weeks. We've had her since late 2001 and she's been with us in every place that we've lived. She accompanied me to Florida when I did my 6 week internship at the zoo and kept me from feeling alone when Michael was traveling all of the time for work. She slept on my side of the bed every night until we brought Connor home from the hospital. Slowly she began to warm up to him and they got along pretty well. Explaining to him that she was no longer going to be with us was hard because his response was, "I don't want her to go because I love her." So sad.
