Back From Vacation

We just got back from Florida and had a great time. Connor loved the beach and we'll be adding pictures when we get a chance.

We've been absent for the past two weeks, but here's a few posts for you before we leave on vacation today. We went to a few Derby parties on Derby Day and Connor and Collier Crouch were having a good time picking out their horses for the Derby. Too many parties wore that boy out!
We also went to the park for our weekly playgroup get together. It was such a nice day and the kids loved playing in the trees. Connor thought it was a good place to stop and have a snack.
Spending time in the backyard means looking for sticks to run around with. Who would think that hunting for sticks would be so much fun. I guess it doesn't take much to entertain my 2 year old!

A Visit to Murray

Mother's Day weekend we headed to Mississippi to visit with Michael's friends and we had a pregnancy scare in Jackson, Tn on the way down. We called my doctor who said I was fine to go ahead, but we decided to turn around and go to Murray instead. Our friend and former neighbor Matt who is an OB/GYN met us at his office and did a quick ultrasound. He said everything looked fine with me and the baby so we were relieved. It was so nice of him to meet us so late to put our minds at ease. We stayed for the rest of the weekend and got to hang out with family. Connor loves the enormous sand pile at Mimi and Poppy's house. It was good preparation for the sand he'll throwing in Destin this weekend. We also found my brother's old football helmet he had when he was little. Connor loves watching and playing football so the helmet was a great find. Too bad it was a little big!

It's a........

Boy! Connor's going to have a little brother. I had an early ultrasound this Tuesday (we weren't supposed to find out until May 14) because of the problems I've been having. The tech told me she could tell the sex of the baby if I wanted to know. I said she couldn't tell me because Michael was at home with Connor and I wanted him to be there so we could hear the news together. I asked her to write it down on a piece of paper and we'd open it when I got home. So that's what we did and I've been saying for a while now that I am destined for boys so we both had a strong feeling that it would be another boy. Everything on the ultrasound looked good as did our baby boy which is a big relief! So now we get to start thinking about names. I asked Connor if he wanted a little brother and he said no. I conviced him that he could teach the baby how to play footballl and baseball and he decided that sounded okay to him.

What We've Been Up To

Just hanging out watching some movies.
Playing some baseball.
Swinging with Mimi when she and Poppy came to visit.
Riding a Derby horse in the Derby Parade at school. (No picture of the parade just use your imagination).
Making a nice fort to hide under.
We've also started Connor in Infant Survival Swim lessons http://www.infantswim.com/home.html and his first day was Monday of this week. This class lasts from 4 to 6 weeks and in the end Connor will be able to float/swim to the edge of the pool (even with clothes on) so if he ever falls in the water accidentally he won't drown. It's been somewhat difficult to do for all of us because the lessons are pretty intense. He was fully imersed under water the second day. The best part for him is checking out the saltwater fish tank after the lessons are over. I'm so proud of him for being so brave.
