A Stop in Atlanta

On our way back from Athens we stopped off to visit with Michael's Atlanta fam, Ellen, Bill, Laurel, Spencer and Jen. We went to the mall for a quick look around.

More from Athens

Nick and Ashley have 3 dogs, Madison, Sophie, and Sally. Connor enjoyed the "puppies" as he calls them from the other side of the glass. He wasn't so sure when they got up close and personal with him.
A drawing lesson from the artist in residence.
We visited Nick's studio on campus. He does great work, we have quite a few paintings and drawings in our house. http://www.nickhelton.com/

We made it through the tour without getting paint on ourselves and Connor which was a big feat.

It's a Dawg!

Nick was commissioned to do a bull dog for this bank in Athens a while back. Since we haven't been down to visit since they moved we had to go by and check it out.

He did a great job painting the dollar bill.

Go Cats!!

I bought UK/GA tickets for Michael's birthday and we went this weekend to Athens with mom and dad to visit my brother, Nick and his wife, Ashley who are both graduate students at UGA. Connor was sooooo good in the car, never cried once or slept until the last 10 minutes (it was a 7 1/2 hour drive). The game was fun even though UK lost. The University of Georgia has a beautiful campus and the weather was great! Mom and dad babysat for us so Connor wore his UK blue to support them from home. We had him chanting, "Go Cats" and Nick and Ashley had him chanting "Go Dawgs." Poor kid.

Busy Boy

It's so hard to keep up with all of the vaccuming around here, mommy and daddy are so messy!
After a long day of housework I like to kick back and relax in my toy basket for a while.
Then it's back to work practicing my doctoring skills.
Mommy told me that's not the way they teach U of L medical students how to take a patient's blood pressure, but I said why not try the foot? It might work.

Feeding Ducks

Connor and Gavin or "Gabin" went last week to feed the ducks & geese by our house. It was cold so we didn't stay long, but the birds loved the bread. Connor sampled a little as well to see what all the fuss was about.
Maybe he'll want to be a wildlife major like his mommy?

Paris

I forgot to post some of our Paris pictures, and yes we have a lot of them! My favorite tourist attracation is the Eiffel Tower. It was right by our hotel and the view is just amazing from below and when you're at the very top. I took pictures a different times of the day and night and it's amazing how it changes.

This is the view from the second to the top level. It was cold and windy up there!
You can see the Champs Elysees with all of it's trees and the Arc de Triomphe at the end.
They light up the Tower on the hour with little twinkly Christmas lights and it lasts for maybe 15 minutes or so. I couldn't get it on the camera but it was so cool to watch.

Love the heart in the grass here. It must be pretty big to see from the top of the Tower.

Monmartre

Monmartre is a really beautiful little town outside of Paris and Sacre Cour is the church we visited (above). This is is the city where Moulin Rouge is, but we had only enough time to re-enact a scene from "Rocky" as we ran up the stairs to the church. Man, it's a lot of steps!!

This was the Metro stop for Monmartre, even that was beautiful!

Muse d'Orsay

Love the Muse d'Orsay, so much to see there.

This clock was so neat, and you could see the ferris wheel through the clock. I was shopping for picture frames at Target recently and saw this same shot in a frame! Pretty cool.

While we were at the Muse d'Orsay we saw a film crew there. I heard the host, who seemed to be American, say they were filming for A&E or the Discovery Channel I can't remember. Wonder if we were in any of the footage?

I had a poster of this very painting in my room for years so it was cool to see it in person.
Michael loved this Van Gogh painting.
